HORIZON 2020

HORIZON 2020

EU programme for years 2014 - 2020 for funding research, technological development, and innovation.

The vision of establishing a professional in-house Grant Office at CEITEC MU was to boost the grant activity especially in prestigious international funding schemes. The total number of submitted proposals is rising steadily from 2011. The major start-up increase was achieved from 2011 to 2013, when we reached 148 proposals per year. Afterwards, the rate steadied, adding about 10 extra proposals per year and reaching 176 in 2016.

The scheme on the left visually presents the funding landscapes that are supported by Grant Office and represents the basics and motivation for even more colorful future.  For more information, contact us at grants@ceitec.muni.cz.

We are exceptionally successful in the Spreading Excellence programme of the H2020, which is also linked with our previous successes in the FP7 Capacities programme. Horizon 2020 is the biggest research and innovation programme in the EU, with nearly 80 million EUR available over its 7 year programming period.

Its aim is to support the implementation of European research and innovation policies with three basic pillars: (i) ensure that EU remains at the forefront in global basic research through support of “Excellence Science”; (ii) speed up development of the technologies and innovations that will underpin tomorrow's businesses and help innovative European SMEs to grow into world-leading companies to achieve global “Industrial Leadership” of the EU; (iii) cope with major “Societal Challenges” faced by the societies in EU and the World.
